Apsara in New York is a film shot and directed by Hieu Gray in collaboration with the Khmer-American poet Sokunthary Svay. The short film is based on Svay's poem of the same name about the duality that exists within the real and spiritual world.  The images draw upon Svay's real life for inspiration and captures the poet with her daughter.  The bond between the two is undeniable and Gray wanted to show how the two generations intersect and co-exist.
